5 Types of Lecturers in Nigeria and How to Relate with Them By Anas Yazid

I have noted over several years how students struggle to keep up academically, and it is often not because they are not intelligent or hardworking, but because they fail to understand the very people that teach them "their lecturers", and appreciate the fact that they are all not the same. The personality of a lecturer determines how you relate with him during lectures, it will also tell you whether you can meet him at his office anytime or by appointment only, whether you can call him or he accepts emails only, should you help him with his bags or not. All these questions can be easily answered if you understand the natural disposition of your lecturers, and mastering this may perhaps be the key to your academic success in the University. I was able to identify 5 types of lecturers in Nigerian Universities. I did this categorization based on their natural disposition, what motivates them, teaching style, how they examine students and how they supervise projects. This classification is by no means exhaustive, and lecturers do not generally fit perfectly into one of these types like a square peg in a square hole, some may overlap types, while some may even combine more than 1 type. However, what I am suggesting is if you are able to generally profile your lecturer based on one of these types then you may consider my ideas on how to best relate with him or her. For the sake of flow of conversation I will use the male gender “He” in this article, I have nothing against women, it is just easier for me to write this way.

1) The Worker

These by far, form the majority of lecturers in Nigerian Universities. This is the person that may not have graduated with impressive results, but he was lucky enough to meet the requirement to start as a graduate assistant in a University, he then quietly makes his way to the top. When the Worker lectures, he usually makes one note and then use it over and over again every year. The notes are usually voluminous and he may end up dictating it throughout the entire lecture session. The Worker is usually very punctual and does not like students coming late to his lectures. When the Worker examines, there is usually a pattern and there are hardly any surprises, he may repeat past questions but hardly deviates too much from his notes. When he marks, he pays very huge attention to detail and you may not pass if you don’t give him what he wants, not necessarily “what is right”. In worst case scenarios, especially in a theoretical course, you would have to give him exactly what he gave you word for word, don't even attempt to change “is not” to “isn’t". When he supervises your project, he may give you a topic, but you will do all the work, even though you may get materials from him. If you choose to do your project with the Worker, his major advantage is that, he is always around and he will take his time to go through the details of your work and make appropriate corrections. He will do this not because he likes you, but may be because he will be using it as his paper publication later to push forward his promotion.

2) The Entrepreneur

Lecturers of this type are also very common in Nigerian Universities and they actually make academic career a bit attractive, you may notice them drive fancy cars and wear nice clothing. These are the smart people, they are in the academics not because they are passionate about research or teaching, but because it gives them the free time they need to run their businesses. Now, as they are business oriented they understand the risk of not doing what is expected of them in their work, so they always meet targets but immediately leave the University premises afterwards. When the Entrepreneur lectures he may not use any structured notes because there is usually no time to prepare them, or like the Worker he may also prepare one note and use it year after year. When the Entrepreneur examines, he set questions that are easy to mark, so if you are smart and understand his patterns, he is the easiest to get "A's". When you choose to do your project with the Entrepreneur, do not ever make the mistake of expecting to see him at the office all the time, you may be meeting him at his home, or his other office. The Entrepreneur would normally allow phone calls but if he is under 40 years, he would most definitely prefer email. When working with this type, know that you will be doing most of the work, even though the project may not be as voluminous as it would have been when supervised by the Worker, the Entrepreneur would most likely value significance of your work over its volume. The major problem when working with this type is that he may not be too detailed when correcting your work, and you may end up having tough time during your project defense.

3) The Expert

Lecturers of this type are the actual true lecturers and vessels of knowledge. They probably chose academic career very early in their lives, much like how someone would want to be a pilot, a doctor, or an engineer at 10. They are extremely rare in the Nigerian Universities and they are high achievers. You may see them taking up appointments later in their lives such as Rectors, Vice Chancellors or Ministers. When the Expert gives lectures, he literary transfers knowledge and wisdom especially when he is at his older age. This type is the one whose lectures you would look forward to attending every week. You may sit and just listen without taking notes and you will still enjoy it, you may even consider recording his lectures as later references when studying. His younger version may be a little impatient with his students, especially when they fail to grasp his concepts, plus he makes his lectures more challenging because of his high expectations of his students. The Expert is constantly updating his lectures and teaching style unlike the Worker and the Entrepreneur. When the Expert examines, his questions are usually applied and a bit challenging, but if you attend his lectures and work very hard, he has no problem giving you an “A” in his course. When you choose to do a project with the Expert, expect to work very hard, with a lot of input from him, especially if he finds your topic interesting. However, you may run into trouble with him if you are not serious or your work does not motivate him.

4) The Comrade

This type is by far one of the most difficult to relate with among all other types. He thinks people take life too seriously, and he personally believes living a spartan way is the only righteous way to live. You may see him wearing ragged clothing & sometimes bathroom slippers to class, sometimes you will also see him riding a bicycle even when he is a professor. Now when the Comrade lectures he may spend over half of the time criticizing the government or the school management. His lectures are generally fun even though you are actually not learning much, as he kind of entertain his students with jokes. Now when the Comrade examines you, he may go way beyond the scope of what he had actually taught. His question paper alone may even be up to 5 pages, and no one ever gets an “A” in his course, for some reason only known to him. If you encounter this type you may want get ideas on his approach from his former students and just work hard enough to pass the course or get a good grade. When you wish to do your project with this type expect some uncomfortable conversations, however if you are in charge of your work and require little input from him, you may find him easy to work with. Under no circumstances do you want to get in the bad books of the Comrade as he will literary make it his business to mess you up. It is always better to keep a distance with this type and make sure you do not have any personal relationship with him.

5) The Opportunist

This is unfortunately the most dangerous of all the types, most of us in the academics deny they exist but the truth is they actually do, and not talking about them, or advising students on how to relate with them and how the system gets rid of them actually does more damage than good. Even though they are extremely rare but they end up always painting a negative picture on the academic profession in the society, some guy even made a song about this type, but generalize it with the title “Mr. Lecturer”. This type takes advantage of his students, he may request financial favor in return for passing his course. On a more subtle note, he may try to generate income from his students by making purchase of certain things mandatory e.g. a book, a handout or attending a training course outside the University. On a more immoral note he may request certain favors from his female students in return for passing his course. Now even though the Opportunist may repeat his lectures notes, and his exams may take a particular pattern, he usually structure his lectures and exams to maximize these opportunities. However, in most cases, when an incidence occurs involving this type and a student, 90% of the time it is the student that always starts the whole thing by offering something. What many students don't realize is that once this type starts with you, he may not give you what you want for several years. So my advice is do not ever go and ask for anything from this type, whether you are a male or female, and whenever he makes certain advances towards you, report him to the University management immediately, not your department but the management. However I don't have to emphasize that you only do this when you have strong evidence that will prove your allegations beyond reasonable doubt.

Do you know another lecturer type not mentioned here, comment below and let me know.

These classification got me reflecting on some specific lecturers I had. Some are a combination. Nice piece Sir

The Best Steroid Cycles

# The Best Steroid Cycles: Everything You Need To Know

Understanding steroid cycles is essential for anyone

looking to enhance their bodybuilding or athletic performance.

These cycles are designed to maximize muscle growth, fat loss, or both through strategic use of

anabolic steroids. However, the effectiveness of a steroid

cycle can vary widely based on gender, experience level,

and fitness goals.

---

## Gender

Genders often have different responses to

steroids due to variations in hormone levels and metabolic rates.

Men typically benefit from higher doses of steroids for bulking purposes, while women may find more success in cutting cycles or moderate dosages to avoid unwanted side effects like virilization.

---

## Experience Level

Your experience level can significantly impact how you approach steroid cycles.

Beginners should start with lower doses and shorter cycles to assess their tolerance and response.

Intermediate users might opt for slightly higher doses, while advanced

individuals could experiment with more complex or prolonged regimens, such as TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) bridging cycles.

---

## Fitness Goals

Whether your goal is to bulk up or shed body fat, the choice of

steroid cycle can make a big difference. Bulking cycles are generally characterized

by higher testosterone doses, while cutting cycles often combine steroids with fat-loss

agents to preserve muscle while reducing body fat.

---

## The Differences Between Male & Female Steroid Cycles

Male and female steroid cycles differ primarily due to gender-specific hormone levels.

Women tend to have lower testosterone levels naturally, so

they must adjust their doses accordingly to avoid hormonal

imbalances or side effects like gynecomastia in males.

---

## Steroid Cycles For Men

Men often enjoy the most success with bulking cycles, especially when combined with adequate calories and training.

Common choices include Testosterone Enanthate, Dianabol, or Deca-Durabolin for bulking,

while Trenbolone and Clenbutrol are popular for cutting.

---

## Steroid Cycles For Women

Women may find more success in cutting cycles due to their lower

testosterone levels. Cycles like Testosterone Enanthate paired with fat burners can help them achieve a

leaner physique without excessive side effects when used responsibly.

---

## Different Steroid Cycles Based on Experience Level

Your experience level will determine the best steroid cycle for you.

Beginners should start with mild, short-term cycles to avoid harsh side effects.

Intermediate users might benefit from slightly stronger doses, while

advanced users can push their limits with longer or more complex regimens.

---

## Cycles for Women Based on Experience

Women’s steroid cycles often vary based on experience.

Beginner women may find success with low-dose Testosterone

Enanthate paired with diet and exercise. Intermediate women might opt for slightly higher doses,

while advanced users could experiment with bridging TRT cycles to maintain muscle during

breaks.

---

## Cycles for Men Based on Experience

Men’s steroid cycles also vary by experience level.

Beginner men often start with Testosterone Enanthate or Dianabol

in short-term bursts. Intermediate men might use slightly higher doses,

while advanced users could benefit from longer cycles or TRT bridging to maintain consistent performance.

---

## Separate Cycles for Bulking and Cutting

Bulking and cutting are two primary goals in bodybuilding, each requiring

a different approach. Bulking cycles focus on maximizing muscle growth through high testosterone doses, while cutting cycles aim to preserve muscle while shedding excess fat using fat-burning

agents like Clenbutrol or Trenbolone.

---

## Cutting Cycles

Cutting cycles are popular among both men and women looking to achieve a leaner physique.

These cycles often combine anabolic steroids with fat-burning agents to

reduce body fat without losing muscle mass.

---

## Bulking Cycles

Bulking cycles are designed to maximize muscle growth

through high doses of anabolic steroids. Men typically use more potent dosages,

while women may opt for milder versions to avoid side effects.

---

## Exploring The Best Steroid Cycle Options

When exploring steroid cycle options, it’s crucial to consider

your gender, experience level, and fitness goals.

Whether you’re a man looking to bulk up or a woman aiming to cut fat,

there are tailored cycles that can help you achieve

your objectives.

---

## The Best Beginner Bulking Cycles for Men

For men starting their steroid journey, a common beginner bulking cycle involves Testosterone Enanthate at a low dose,

paired with Dianabol for the first few weeks. This approach

allows gradual muscle growth without overwhelming side effects.

---

## The Best Intermediate Bulking Cycles for Men

Intermediate men might opt for slightly higher doses of Testosterone Enanthate or switch to more potent steroids like Deca-Durabolin, depending

on their goals and experience.

---

## The Best Advanced Bulking Cycles for Men

Advanced users might experiment with longer cycles or even TRT bridging, where they use

a low dose of testosterone throughout the year to maintain muscle

mass. This is particularly useful for athletes who need to preserve

performance during breaks from training or injury recovery.

---

## The Best Beginner Cutting Cycles for Women

Women looking to cut fat might start with Testosterone Enanthate at a low dose, combined with

diet and exercise. This makes it a favorite among bodybuilders looking to

bulk up.

Strength: The steroid also enhances strength, allowing users to lift heavier weights and perform more reps.

This is partly due to its ability to improve nitrogen retention and muscle function.

Reduced Body Fat: While primarily a bulking agent, Testosterone Cypionate can also help reduce body fat by improving metabolism and maintaining muscle

mass during cutting phases.

Muscle Preservation: Its anti-catabolic properties ensure that muscle

mass is not lost during periods of calorie restriction or intense training.

Recovery: The steroid accelerates recovery time, allowing athletes to return to training faster after injuries or intense workouts.

### Testosterone Cypionate Dosing and Administration

The dosage and frequency of administration depend on the individual's goals, experience, and tolerance.

Below are some common dosing guidelines:

Beginner Dosage: 100-250mg per day, split into 2-3 injections per week.

Intermediate Dosage: 300-500mg per day, with 2-3 injections per week.

Advanced Dosage: 600-1000mg per day, often administered twice weekly to maximize effects.

Dosing schedules are typically based on the half-life

of Testosterone Cypionate, which is about 12-24 hours.

Longer cycles may be used for more experienced users aiming to

achieve maximum muscle gain and performance enhancement.

### Testosterone Cypionate for TRT

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) involves the use of synthetic

testosterone to address age-related declines in testosterone levels.

While TRT can be effective, it is important to monitor side effects and consult with a healthcare professional before

starting any supplementation.

### Testosterone Cypionate Cycles

Testosterone-only Cycle: This is the most basic

and commonly used cycle for men, typically lasting 4-6 weeks at doses of 300-500mg per day.

Low-dose Testosterone Cycle: Lower doses (100-200mg per day) are sometimes

used by those looking to maintain muscle mass without significant gains.

This is often combined with calorie-rich diets for fat retention.

Bulking Cycles: Higher doses and longer durations are common in bulking phases, aiming

to maximize muscle growth. These cycles are often paired

with nutrient-dense diets and intensive training programs.

Cutting Cycles: While primarily a bulking agent, Testosterone

Cypionate can be used in cutting phases at lower doses to maintain muscle mass

while reducing body fat. However, it is less effective

than other steroids like Trenbolone for this purpose.

### Testosterone Cypionate vs. Other PEDs

Testosterone Cypionate vs. Testosterone Enanthate: Both are synthetic testosterone

esters but differ in ester length and release duration. Cypionate has a slower release,

making it preferred by some users.

Testosterone Cypionate vs. Dianabol: While both promote muscle

growth, Testosterone Cypionate is more anabolic without

the pronounced androgenic effects of Dianabol,

which can lead to side effects like hair loss and acne.

Testosterone Cypionate vs. Trenbolone: Trenbolone is more potent

in promoting muscle growth and fat loss but also carries a higher risk of adverse effects, including testosterone suppression and liver strain.

### Stacking Testosterone Cypionate

Stacking Testosterone Cypionate with other steroids can enhance its effects.

Common combinations include:

Testosterone Cypionate + Dianabol (bulking cycle): Combines well for significant muscle

gain and strength.

Testosterone Cypionate + Deca-Durabolin (bulking/recomp

cycle): Enhances muscle growth while reducing joint strain.

Testosterone Cypionate + Trenbolone (recomp cycle): Ideal for cutting phases to maintain muscle mass and

improve conditioning.

### Testosterone Cypionate PCT

Post-Cycle Therapy (PCT) is essential after concluding a

cycle to restore natural testosterone production and avoid

hormonal imbalances. A common PCT regimen includes Clomid or

Nolvadex, along with supportive medications like Arimidex for excessive estrogen levels.

### Testosterone Cypionate Side Effects

Short-term side effects: Injection site irritation, fluid retention, and temporary acne are common. These usually subside upon discontinuation or adjusting the dosage.

Estrogenic side effects: Testosterone Cypionate can aromatize, leading to estrogenic effects like gynecomastia, breast swelling, and mood changes.

These can be managed with anti-estrogen supplements like Anastrozole or Tamoxifen.

Androgenic side effects: Hair loss, acne, and aggressive behavior may occur in some

users. These are more common in individuals with a genetic predisposition to androgenic alopecia.

Hepatotoxic side effects: Long-term use can strain the liver, necessitating regular monitoring of liver enzymes and functions.

HPTA and endogenous Testosterone production side effects: Suppressed natural testosterone production due to exogenous

supplementation can lead to testicular atrophy and

hormonal imbalances. Proper PCT is critical to restore these functions.

Cardiovascular side effects: High doses or prolonged use may increase the risk of

cardiovascular events, including heart attacks and strokes.

This makes it crucial to follow dosage guidelines and consult with a healthcare professional before using.

### Is Testosterone Cypionate Safe?

The safety of Testosterone Cypionate depends on the dosage, duration of use,

and individual health. The short head arises from a projection on the scapula called the coracoid.

So tell that to the subsequent one that smirks

at you when they see you in your third set of curls.

You will merely attempt to extend the depth for the compound actions by rising the load to invoke

progressive overload. If you jump weights and discover that you simply can’t complete the rep range,

simply take a rest and finish up. As seen above, the biceps are

actually a bit complex with it being a two headed muscle

that crosses three joints. Subsequently,

so as to absolutely train the biceps as a complete, you

should use variability in your coaching. We don’t want to neglect the start portion of the biceps’ partial vary of

movement, and the Incline Dumbbell Curl is an excellent exercise to achieve peak contraction there.

In a daily Dumbbell Curl, a basic arm train, the contraction peaks on the

midpoint of the motion after which dies off. When we add a band to it, the stress picks up proper

where it dies off and it continues to the end range of the movement

at shoulder level.

This is considered one of our favorite moves for toning the biceps, shoulders,

and even chest. It mimics serving a platter of

meals and requires a ton of activation and stability.

Bollig loves this particular train for newbies and gives choices for making it tougher as you get stronger.

Keep Away From bars with a ‘U’ shape within the

middle, as they have an inclination to dig into your arms during curling workouts.

Utilizing a curl bar in bent-over rows may help you obtain a much deeper lat contraction because it provides

an extended vary of motion in comparability with the straight bar.

Many of my clients find the EZ-bar cranium crushers considerably extra comfortable on their wrists than the straight-bar variation.
