I was invited to give a career talk to young students at Garko Girls Science College, it was quite fascinating what potential these young future leaders have. I dramatized my whole life experience, and made most of them laugh while emphasizing the importance of ambition, focus and handwork. It was a very rewarding experience for me as I was able to educate them and entertain them at the same time.

Due to high unemployment in Nigeria and abject poverty experienced by people, plus too much dependence on the government, we organized a 1 off radio programme at Cool FM radio in Kano Nigeria to talk and inspire listeners on the benefits of self reliance and entrepreneurship. We also invited Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to talk about support and finance available from the Government. SMEDAN also launched the government's One Local Government, One Product (OLOP) project on the show.

As a beneficiary of the YouWiN business grant, I teamed up with 2 other beneficiaries Jamilu Abdussalam and Adams Adeiza, where we organized a seminar on YouWiN grants explaining how best to win the competition. Over 250 people participated and about 50 proceeded to the next stage while over 5 people won the grant.

Our non profit organization AISAD in partnership with Kano State Ministry of Commerce and Airtel organized this event to promote and encourage entrepreneurship in Kano Nigeria. Several participants where given a chance to make a product in 1 hour at the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium. The best 3 where given cash prizes, where AISAD gave the cash prize for the person that won in the 3rd position. Here I present the cheque to Bashir Isa, an art painter, who the made this painting in 1 hour. He was given automatic membership to AISAD and now receives free mentoring.

One of the most amazing experiences of my life. For 7 days I enjoyed the beautiful India, where I visited several places in Delhi such as Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jamaa Masjid etc. I also saw one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal in Agra, it was truly magnificent. I dined at Kareems and enjoyed the amazing sweets from Bikenarvala. I shopped at Lajpat Nagar market, Connaught Place and many more. I enjoyed the hospitality of The Kamils and The Rizwans, amazing families.

As part of the package received for winning the Youth with Innovation Award, we get to attend a bootcamp organized by the world business mogul Doug Richard's School for Startups UK. It was an amazing and inspiring experience listening to Doug and sharing our thoughts and ideas with him. Truly, entrepreneurs around the world have similar genetic make up and speak the same universal language.

Here with my Masters supervisor Professor Cedo Maksimovic and other colleagues: Art and Emeso at Imperial College London, where we worked on water quality in Water Distribution Systems. It was a very challenging experience, but well worth it.

I co-founded this startup with my childhood friend and classmate Bashir Isyaku. The two of us and Dr. Suleman Daneji finished as the top 3 students from Dawaki Tofa Science College. Bashir, a Mechanical Engineer designed a 1KW wind power generator during his Masters, I helped to commercialize the project. We improved the design with CAD, acquired a production space at Kano Technology Incubation Center, raised seed funds. Unfortunately due to some reasons the project is in hiatus for now.

I started lecturing at University of Maiduguri in 2007, and for the next 4 years I was opportuned to teach over 2000 bright young people. Many of them have gone on to become successful by securing good jobs, starting business or furthering to Masters in Nigeria and abroad.

With friends seeing places in London, such as the Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, London Eye, Madam Tassuds, Regeants Park, No. 10 Downing Street and many more. Amazing very cold city.

This event was organized by World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Kano Hub, as a syndicate of the Forum's Shaping Davos event. I participated as a Panelist with 3 other very intelligent people, where we talked about sustainable development. I tried to make the point that while Climate Change is very real and extremelly important, we should get our priorities straight by looking at issues like the killer disease Malaria.
